We’ve been having some cracking weather lately and it’s been wonderful to get outdoors and soak up some vitamin D.
Hasn’t it been great to start catching up with friends, enjoying walks and meeting for coffee and cake? It’s the small things in life that give the greatest pleasures isn’t it?
And I think that after the last two years we’ve had, most people now really appreciate the things we used to take for granted.
We recently decided to go on a day trip and enjoyed a trip to Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea. Our girls had an inset day so we thought we’d capitalise on the opportunity to take in a theme park – and we’re delighted to report a great time was had by all!
In fact, a HUGE congrats to Nicky and her daughter Milla who braved their first loop-the-loop roller coaster! The adrenaline rush was great and we celebrated with donuts afterwards!
Magazine update
Our June issue has gone down a storm, with most pick up points running low on copies. By the time the July issue comes out we expect that most of the copies will have been taken. We never waste a copy though – all the old copies that are collected are then delivered through people’s doors – and they’re still current as they are delivered in the month we’re in.
June’s features are a corker… we’ve got great gift ideas for Father’s Day, some sage information on how to protect your business reputation and Smart Savings with Home Tech.
One of our favourtite features this month, however, is how technology brought one local resident’s community closer together – it’s a lovely inspirational story and the ideal fit of course for Life In Orpington.
Plus not forgetting a huge thank you and welcome to our new advertiser, Trendy Beauty, run by Maria in Farnborough Village. Maria offers anything from manicures and makeup to waxing and tanning.
Some other good news for you this month – we’ve updated our cardboard boxes at Lidl in Locksbottom for a very smart looking counter top unit. And at Sainsbury’s in Locksbottom we’ve also updated our cardboard boxes for a floor stand which can be found along the side of the customer service desk – near the second hand book shelves.
Coming up next month
With the summer holidays kicking off next month we’ve decided to feature BBQ recipes to impress the guests and some great online & app-based entertainment for the kids.
In next month’s issue we also meet the new Mayor of Bromley, plus we discover how random acts of kindness can help boost community spirit.
Look out for your copy in the local shops or online. And if you’d like to treat yourself, a friend or neighbour to a postal copy just let us know by emailing hello@lifeinmagazines.co.uk – it’s just £24 for a year’s subscription.
As usual, we’ll leave you with an inspirational quote to ponder…
“Kindness is choosing to acknowledge and celebrate the beauty in others, regardless of whether or not they can find it in themselves.”

Until next month, enjoy the rest of June!
