Happy New Year! 2021 is a year we’re all hoping returns to normal, but at the time of writing, we’ve gone back into lockdown and are trying to ride out the storm.
The last 12 months have been a rollercoaster for all of us – who would have thought that Covid would come along and affect our lives in the way it did. But there’s light at the end of the tunnel – and hopefully the vaccines will pave the way to a brighter year.
Working life
Given the new lockdown rules, we’re back to doing many household deliveries. Where the magazines were picked up all over the place – at train stations, cafes, hospitals etc, we’re mostly confined to leaving them at the supermarkets. As long as we cover our costs to produce the magazine, we’ll keep going through good times and bad…
Rather than waste the magazines we’ve printed, we’re hoping that we give a little lift to the homes we deliver to while people are isolating – plus it’s a way of getting in our exercise. If you ever feel like becoming a ‘Friend’ of the magazine and volunteering your time to deliver magazines in your street/local community, please get in touch. You can email us at hello@lifeinmagazines.co.uk – at present, we are only accepting ‘Friends’ who can take at least 100 magazines to distribute.
One of the more popular pages in the magazine has been the Pet Page – and we’ve loved seeing your pet pictures – please continue sending these in for the chance to get published. In the February issue we’ve even got a Pet expert to help answer your questions.
On the horizon we’ve got Valentine’s Day next month to look forward to and Mother’s Day in March – we probably won’t be spending these days in the same way we’re used to, so it’s nice to plan ahead and think about how to make them special with limited options.
Again, we’d like to encourage all our readers to shop local where possible; many local businesses are still open – or are delivering goods, so do try them first before you click on Amazon.
