Most companies have mascots don’t they? So as we no longer consider ourselves a brand new company, we decided to get some mascots of our own, AKA the kitties!
Nicky and her family took Wanda under their wings, while Milo and Freya received a warm welcome at Lauretta’s house. In fact, between all the team working on the magazine, I don’t think there’s one of us that doesn’t own a pet.
Pets can bring so much joy into your world – comforting you when you need it most, acting as a loyal companion and just feeling like ‘part of the family’, it’s lovely. The Pet feature in the magazine is always a very popular page and when we’ve asked readers for their pet pictures (usually via social media), we’ve been inundated with pictures of all kinds of pets – from ponies to parrots!
All change
Meanwhile, here at Life In Magazines HQ, if you’ve already managed to have a read of the July issue of Life In Orpington you’ll know that we’ve introduced a few friendly faces.
James has come on board on a part time basis to help with accounts, Zeenat, Tara and Lynsey are the friendly faces you’ll see delivering Life In Orpington every month and we’ve very recently welcomed a new apprentice, Asia, who is keen to get some experience of publishing and magazines, so we’ve welcomed her to the team. We’re also looking at taking on work experience candidates, so if you know someone who’s interested at working in media, tell them to get in touch!
In this month’s issue…
There’s the usual win a £15 App Store voucher by trying the new crossword, plus a new local hero has been named.
And then there’s an introduction to Cllr Mellor, the new Mayor of Bromley and then some great lifestyle features including how random acts of kindness help boost community spirit, plus a new Food & Drink article to offer some inspiration for barbecues in the garden this month. Well, that is, if it ever stops raining!
We also welcome a few new advertisers for July including the Poverest Centre (Bromley Adult Education Centre), Beau Doves, Salur Metal, GutterPRO, Liberty’s Fashion and Hus Barbers. Thank you for your support – and of course to all our advertisers who continue to support us, as we aim to do them.
